How To Get Through Trouble…

I love to read novels. Political thrillers are my favorite. In these stories it is common for special trained agents to risk life and limb for the service of their country. These heros are constantly placed in life threatening situations to accomplish perilous assignments. As I read through their trouble, I’m tempted to peek ahead in the book to find out what happens. Sometimes I do.  Continue reading “How To Get Through Trouble…”

Three Goals for this Blog…

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. Zig Ziglar

Okay readers, I’m going to let you in on a personal ambition of mine–actually three. Three things I’ll be working toward for the remainder of 2017.  For reasons that will become clear, I’m calling these goals The 500/500/500 Vision.

By December 31st, I want this site to achieve the following: Continue reading “Three Goals for this Blog…”

A Personal Appeal…

img_0017

Dear Reader,

First let me tell you how much I appreciate your dropping in to read what I write. I know it’s getting to be a cliche, but I am humbled by your readership.

The fact that people from China, India, England and Kenya (to name a few) have come here just blows my mind. God gets all the Glory because after all, it was his idea.

Now I’m going to ask for yours. I would like for you to send me any topic you would like me to cover within the theme of the site, Faith-Politics-Christian Living, etc…

If you twist my arm, I might consider SEC football and it’s dominance of the NCAA. (Can’t wait for the mail on that).

Just go to the contact page and send me an email. Your address is safe from marketers or the public in general.

Thanks for your response in advance.

Sincerely,

Will

The pageantry and tradition; the competition and my regional attachment is what draws me to the teams I follow. Continue reading “Words, Part 3”

Why I Write Where I Pray…

I have a ritual in the morning. I stagger out of bed straight to the coffee pot. After years of repetition, making  coffee is the only thing I can accomplish at 5:00 in the morning. Well…sometimes at six or seven.

“My eyes are awake through the night watches, That I may meditate on Your word.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:148‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I Know Your Hurting…I’ve Been There

img_0004

I know you’re hurting because I’ve been there. Loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of your integrity. Loss is painful. I know the loneliness in it. We struggle to find our footing. We struggle to get up.

It’s hard to find comfort. I pray these words hit that mark.  Continue reading “I Know Your Hurting…I’ve Been There”

Prayer Is More Than Asking; It’s Standing In The Gap

Church on any given Sunday can be extraordinary. It was for my wife and I yesterday. It wasn’t the worship, that’s always great. It wasn’t the message, again – ditto. What was extraordinary for us was not what happened during service, but rather afterwards. Continue reading “Prayer Is More Than Asking; It’s Standing In The Gap”
